  1. It is sad to see the destruction of places that meant so much to us personally. Your story reminds me of a house that I rented in Chicago for many years. A few years ago, I found out that the house had been demolished and replaced with an ugly condominium. I wish I had a picture as you do. Thanks for sharing this memory.

  6. Isn’t it wonderful to have the photos. I can come up with a very long list of things I regret connected to pieces of family history I can no longer retrieve. Our family has had some really great family reunions, too, where we “go back” to where my grandmother lived, or went to school in rural Mississippi. Your photo took me back to some very happy memories. Thank you. Debra

  13. I often take photos of buildings like this, although many of my photos hold no ‘personal’ memories, I know one day they will be gone and so will the charm of an era gone by. You have an opportunity here to keep this building and its memories alive with your photograph and your story, so all is not totally lost.
