“By the end of my second term, we will have the first permanent base on the moon. And it will be American. I am sick of being told we have to be timid and I’m sick of being told we have to be limited to technologies that are fifty years old. I was attacked the other night for being grandiose. I would just want you to note: Lincoln standing at Council Bluffs was grandiose. The Wright Brothers standing at Kitty Hawk were grandiose. John F. Kennedy was grandiose. I accept the charge that I am grandiose and that Americans are instinctively grandiose.” ~ Newt Gingrich, Republican presidential candidate
“‘Tis the gift to be simple ’tis the gift to be free ‘Tis the gift to come down where you ought to be And when we find ourselves in the place just right ‘Twill be in the valley of love and delight.” ~ Unknown
I have had a renewed admiration for Dolly Parton after seeing a televised interview special of her life a few weeks ago. I was so pleased to hear yesterday, on her 66th birthday, the news that she will partner with Gaylord Entertainment to open a water and snow park in Nashville. I really hope it becomes more than a water and snow park because the city has been in need of a quality family attraction park for many years, ever since the closing of Opryland. More to come of these developments in later posts…
Here is the announcement > Gaylord’s partnership with Dolly Parton Also check out the video news account to the right of that page.
