Since there are no mountains near me, I took this photograph of my daughter’s canvas drawing when she was in middle school. She brought the canvas home about 20 years ago and it has been with me ever since. I decided to use it for this Weekly Photo Challenge: Mountains.

pretty original approach
like the fact that there is uniformity of colour between the house and the mountains, blending in with the environment – very perceptive for a middle schooler
. Thanks for stopping by my blog and taking the time to leave a comment
Hi 4otomo. Glad I stopped by your blog. You have some awesome photos.
Thank you for your visit here and commenting. My daughter really appreciate your feedback. She has often asked why I still have it. Now I can answer, ‘for such a time as this, my dear’. She’s proud of it now.
Very clever. Well done …
Hi Robin. Thank you so much for stopping by and commenting. Greatly appreciated.
This is a very nice painting. I also did a lot of artwork when I was going to school but not of them survived. I am sure your daughter is happy to see it to this day.
Hi Ramoncito17. Thanks for your feedback. Greatly appreciated.
She is so proud of it now – to see others appreciating her work. She has finally grown to see what I’ve been seeing all along – good work for a middle schooler, me thinks. I hated every time I threw my children’s ‘art’ away. But we can’t keep everything or we’ll be hoarders.
Maybe you can start your artwork again and post pictures on your blog. Would love to see them.

Hi island traveler. Thank you so much for giving your feedback on my daughter’s painting. She can appreciate it so much more now – has made her proud.
I agree – all children’s art work are beautiful. I’m beginning to collect my grandchildren’s now. Maybe there’ll be a treasured one amongst the bunch.
Thanks again for stopping by.

I love the river and the river bank and all the colours blend so well.
Hi gobetweenflames. I really appreciate you taking the time to visit and leaving a comment. My daughter is so proud of her painting now – she is able to see what others see. She never listened to me.
She couldn’t figure out why I kept it so long.

Your daughter is so artistic. Is she still painting?

Hi I Choose Happy Now. Thank you so much for visiting. She has one other canvas painting that I kept. But, no, she never seriously continued it as a craft.
You know, today’s digital world offers us a lot of methods in preserving memories that i didn’t have back in the day. It’s so easy now to just photograph your kids art work onto flash drives and dvd’s. Digital media that lasts so much longer than sheets of paper. Thanks for your compliment. We both send you smiles.
